Scott will focus on the details and timeline of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as it relates to small business in Michigan. Scott will also talk about what small business owners need to know, and when they need to know it to stay out of trouble. Anyone serving small businesses and their owners will gain valuable knowledge from this timely presentation. The presentation will conclude with a light social mixer.

About the Speaker: Scott J. Lyon serves as Senior Vice President, for the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM). Scott began with SBAM in April of 2003. In this role Scott oversees two for-profit companies that serve members of the Association. These companies include, Small Business Insurance Services, LLC, and Small Business Administrative Services, LLC. Both of these companies perform services on behalf of many of the more than 20,000 members of SBAM, and include a sponsored BCBSM/BCN health insurance program, COBRA, Section 125, HSA and HRA administration. Scott is also a member of SBAM’s government affairs team related to health insurance and employee benefits at the state and federal level. He has worked at the intersection of health insurance, small business and government relations for nearly 30 years.
