Symposium Spotlight: Equity Management – Determining Growth and Retaining Value in Your Business

General Session 2:  Equity Management – Determining Growth and Retaining Value in Your Business presented by David Grau of FP Transitions

Equity management is a concept focused on helping owners determine, monitor, and protect the value of their businesses. This presentation examines the most accurate methods for valuing a financial services practice, how other advisors use these valuation results to manage their businesses and plan for the future, how to protect equity against disaster with a properly structured continuity plan, and how to establish a separate long-range succession or retirement plan. The presentation will also address an unusually effective method to grow through acquisition, the financial logic behind setting up an internal ownership track, and how to use “equity recycling” to build greater value.

FPA of Michigan 2012 Annual Fall Symposium will be held October 4th and 5th at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth.
