The Financial Planning Association of Michigan hosted a kick-off meeting for the 2012 Summer Mentorship Program. Four new members of the program met at the offices of TFG Advisors in Troy with their mentors, while enjoying a light dinner and beverages, to discuss the parameters of the Summer Mentorship Program.
The purpose of the Summer Mentorship Program is to give those individual who are new to the industry the opportunity to be matched up with a more seasoned FPA Member for individualized career exploration and in-depth analysis of their best practices. This relationship is driven by each mentee, which allows that individual to get the most out of their one-on-one relationship. Sessions between mentors and mentees are conducted throughout the summer, with a mid-session meeting to review accomplishments scheduled for early August, and a wrap up in mid-September.
Upon completion of this meeting, one attendee said, “The program looks quite challenging and rewarding . . . Your suggestions have me enthused about the experience and career growth opportunity that this program will provide . . .”.
FPA of Michigan members, both new and experienced, should consider becoming part of this program as an opportunity to learn and share valuable insights to our very profitable careers. Why not consider becoming a mentor?
