On March 28th, I attended the education event at the MEC in Troy. It was an interesting change of pace as Bill and Linda Kleist from Identity Graphic Design taught us the importance of good branding. “Impressions are made in the blink of the eye”. Before a prospect reaches our office an impression may already have been formed through a business card, website, print ad, etc. Do we really understand how our brand is perceived?
As planners our days are filled with facts, data and details; investment portfolios, insurance decisions, estate planning, cash flow analysis.. We can become so focused on our task, it is easy to lose sight of the big picture. If our brand doesn’t send the right message, we may be missing out on that ideal client. And the one thing we all have in common is the desire to find more ideal clients! I walked away with a lot of food for thought.
